Livescience.com’s Stunning Photo: Lightning Strikes in Manhattan highlights Ben Leshchinsky’s lucky shot. Leshchinsky was on his terrace at his apartment near 67th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, looking northeast toward Central Park when he caught this image of a lightning bolt in action.

According to Yahoo.com, It appears the lightning struck near the American Museum of Natural History in the Upper West Side area of Manhattan. Although several people said they heard loud thunderclaps at the museum, there were no confirmed lightning strikes, according to museum official Michael Walker.

Churchill Furniture Featured in Staging of New York City Townhouse

Churchill recently partnered with Brown Harris Stevens to stage a newly restored townhouse on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Stagers, Steve Moore and Lisa Lippman, used several pieces of Churchill furniture as part of the photo shoot of this beautiful home on West 77th Street. The townhouse can be seen in NYPost.com’s Dream Home section and features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, several entertaining rooms as well as a garden level wine cellar, elevator and oak flooring throughout.

 

NYC Bike Share to Launch With 10,000 Bikes

Streetblog.org is reporting that NYC Bike Share to Launch With 10,000 Bikes. The city has announced a partnership with Alta Bike Share, the company that runs systems in DC, London, and Montreal. There will initially be 10,000 bikes, at 600 stations stretching from the Upper West Side and Upper East Side to Bed Stuy and Greenpoint. Annual memberships will cost under $100 and will allow members to make trips of up to 30 minutes at no charge.

Living in a NYC Microstudio

Felice Cohen lives in a microstudio in Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
