NORAD tracks Santa

NORAD is the bi-national U.S.-Canadian military organization responsible for the aerospace and maritime defense North America. NORAD stands for North American Aerospace Defense Command; it was originally created in 1958 to provide advance warning of impending missile attacks. Currently, NORAD works with the Federal Aviation Administration to monitor the air space within the United States and Canada.

For over 50 years, NORAD has been tracking Santa’s flight during Christmas Eve. Kids usually call to get updates on Santa’s location.  According to the NORAD tracks Santa website, NORAD tracks Santa with radar, satellites, Santa cams and fighter jets. This year, NORAD has teamed up with Google to track Santa in Google Earth. You can download the Google Earth app here or call 1 877 HI-NORAD on Christmas Eve to track Santa.
