Washingtonian.com’s The Museum of the Bible to Replace the Washington Design Center highlights the $50 million deal that was struck last week. David Green, the Oklahoma City-based billionaire who created the Hobby Lobby chain of crafts stores has purchased the struggling Washington Design Center. Michelle Farmer, the spokesperson for The Museum of the Bible said the museum won’t open for several years but it will contain the Green Collection, comprising of 55,000 ancient biblical texts and artifacts.
