Nytimes.com’s A Bookmaker’s Supply Chest is a pictorial of Talas, a bookbinding and conservation supply in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Talas specializes in locating elusive bookbinding materials. Elaine and Herbert Haas founded Talas in 1962. It was located in Manhattan until 2009, when the Saliks, who had bought the company in the mid-90s, moved into this three-story building on Morgan Avenue in East Williamsburg.
