The World’s Population Density, Visualized

Gizmodo.com’s The World’s Population Density, Visualized highlights an interactive density map created by Derek Watkins. The map provides a visualization of population density that can be adjusted based on how many people per square kilometer. Some interesting data is that India and China have areas with the highest population density in the world. Another interesting takeaway is that Northeast United states us the only area in North America with a population density of over 300 people per square kilometer. Watkins used data from SEDAC to generate the map’s population info.
