Kayak for Free at the Hoboken Cove Boathouse

If you’re looking for something interesting to do during the sweltering NJ summer, head over to the Hoboken Cove Boathouse.

Opening for the season in the beginning of June, the Hoboken Cove Boathouse will again offer free kayaking and small non-motorized boat access to the Hudson River. The kayaking takes place in the embayment close to the shore near the Maxwell Place Beach. No reservations are required, it is completely free, and they provide all the necessary equipment! All you need to do is hop in a suit, slap on some sunscreen, and go!

The Hoboken Cove was discovered by Henry Hudson on October 2nd, 1609 when he anchored his ship there and today it is a protected area for the public to enjoy.

For more information including the free kayaking dates, please visit the Hoboken Cove Boathouse’s website.
