An Eco Restaurant Grows in Brooklyn

Inhabitat.com highlights the Habana Outpost in Fort Greene, Brooklyn where Mexican and Caribbean-influenced food meets green design. The Habana Outpost, which started in 2005, is New York’s first solar-powered restaurant and marketplace. It features eco-friendly designs like bike-powered blender, a rainwater collection system, composting and recycling stations, efficient lighting, compostable plates and silverware, a garden, and wheatboard panels inside the restaurant. Their mission is on the principals of great food, great fun, and social responsibility.
