NYC Bike Share to Launch With 10,000 Bikes

Streetblog.org is reporting that NYC Bike Share to Launch With 10,000 Bikes. The city has announced a partnership with Alta Bike Share, the company that runs systems in DC, London, and Montreal. There will initially be 10,000 bikes, at 600 stations stretching from the Upper West Side and Upper East Side to Bed Stuy and Greenpoint. Annual memberships will cost under $100 and will allow members to make trips of up to 30 minutes at no charge.
