Elizabeth Taylor’s Iconic Jewels were auctioned off at Christie’s auction in New York last month. Famous pieces included an $11.8 million pearl necklace and an $8.8 million diamond ring given to the beauty by former hubby Richard Burton.
Many of the pieces were purchased by reality stars like former Real Housewives of New York City, Jill Zarin, who was spotted touting Taylor’s oversized aquamarine ring designed by Zohrab Istanboulian. The sparkler was purchased for her by her husband Bobby for a cool $19,000 at the auction.
Kourtney & Kim Take New York star, Kim Kardashian, also dropped some major cash on Taylor’s stash. The star paid $64,900 (a whopping $57,000 over the highest estimate price) for a set of three jade and diamond Lorraine Schwartz bracelets. “Jade harnesses energy and she feels she’ll share a deeper connection to the Hollywood icon,” sources say of her purchase.
According to a report from cbsnews.com, Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection sold for a whopping $137 million at the auction.
